Profile P3i Pusat Partisipasi Perempuan Indonesia

Indonesia is an archipelago country united by oceans and seas. We are a country of a vast diverse communities; tribes or different cultures; languages; and also religions. A country that lives harmoniously under one ideology, which vulnerable to conflicts or violences.

Solidarities were tested by terrible events which caused the lost of many lives. Riots in East Timo 1999r, May 1998 Riots in Jakarta, Solo and many other places, Bali Bombing, Riots in Poso and Kalimantan 2002, Jakarta Bombing 2003, earthquake & tsunami hit Aceh and West Sumatra 2004. And the latest heart breaking disaster in West Java 2006.

Those numoreous circumstances left also wounded people as well as survivor Their live
continue as they quench for better live and justice by regaining their inner peace. These victims-survivor was traumatized and yet, struggling in various way.

Concerned by these situation, P3I emerge to address healing and peace issue with the survivor and our concerns community. P3I was officialy born on April 1st 2004.

VISION:
Creating peaceful life in plural society focusing on recovering and self-strengthening society
especially women.
MISSIONS:
1. Running a self-strengthening programs for education and training for society in order to build a way towards peacebuilding and diversity community.
2. Providing the society with “Rumah Sehat” as a counseling space for victims in conflict area.
3. Analysing and developing healing methods actively involving society as participants.
4. Building “Rumah Baca” (Reading Home) for the society to build networking or program collaboration in remote areas or suburb-poor area.

Experiences:
1. Workshop and Gender Coaching for Educational Staff as an Agents of Change; in cooperation with The Women Study Centre of Indonesian University or Kajian Wanita UI (September 2004)
2. Studies and Coaching Advancing Women Participation on Politics, cooperating with
PATTIRO (July 2004)
3. Analysing Women Issues in the Women Literature Center Studies in every University
in Indonesia, cooperating with Kajian Wanita UI (Women Studies UI).
4. Studies & Gender Coaching for Labour Union (October 2004)
5. Discussion & Studies to socialize “Regulation on Autonomy Teritorry” in Jabotabek.
Running Activities:
1. Education Society Programme through “RUMAH BACA” with several coaching to
community in order to strengthen themselves.
2. Society Strengthening Programme focusing on live victime through social healing
in “RUMAH SEHAT” with different activity, coaching and peaceful studies.
3. Workshop on National Recovery and “Peace” Campaign in May 2006, working
together with Conference International Global Healing II.

1. Discussing women and gender problems which pointing to value and principle on taking
sides for women and Human Rights

4. In effort to contribute of social healing society & elevate pain from conflicts they
had been through.
